Oh how i miss her, she went back on Sept the 23 and my life has a hole in it!.

We hadn't seen each other in 18 years, due to some odd circumstance prob best forgotten and indeed i can't really remember what went on. Our Mum had just died and then she lost her oldest daughter to an accident and it just "happened". So after i had divorced and moved onwards i tried to locate both of them. I have never lost touch with my brother but i had not spoken to the sisters in years. He didn't even know where they where, we were fairly sure they still lived in Scotland but i had no way of knowing if they where still in Edinburgh or had moved on. I had moved on you see, i now lived in the US so i know they had no idea where i was. So with the advice of my hubby echoing in my ears i tried to locate them, i cant tell you how many hours i searched the Internet, keying in various forms of their name and their children's names but there would always be hoards of names like theirs and with money being tight the sites that wanted me to pay for the information would just have to keep it!!

BUT one day in 2007 i went to a UK site that i had been with since 03, i hadn't checked in quite a while so i keyed in her name and lo and behold there it was!!!!!!!!! My sister, absolutely it was her, the info she had put in there exactly matched her. So i sent an email to the site to send to her. I heard nothing back, so after a week i decided to key in my other sisters sons name, located him also, he was on there, so i emailed him and heard back that very night, i had found one of them at least!!!!!!!!!!! So that night i had found my nephew and he called his sis and told her you will never guess what has just happened..........then she emailed me also. I got her email, his email and her myspace. I can;t even begin to tell you how i felt, then i got their MSN messenger ims and started to talk to them. Then i chatted to my sister via her daughter cos she is not computer literate!! But i had found them, then i got my other Sister's MSN and i was talking to her also!!!!!!!!!!! It was the best day, we talked for hours exchanging news, they were so surprised that i was in the US, all the news and gossip from years and years!!!!!!


So fast forward to Sept, one of them was coming over with her youngest daughter to see me and my Darling hubby. When we saw each other at the airport it was one of the most emotional days of my life. There was one of my big sisters walking towards me!!!! and her daughter, who was tiny the last time i had seen her!! I burst into tears and just hugged her and hugged her, she hugged me back and could not believe it either!!!!!!!! It was like a slow motion dream and it was wonderful. The whole 3 weeks she was here we talked and talked and talked, we managed to fit in a road trip too!!! We took them to Arizona to Tombstone, ,The Petrified forest, Carlsbad Caverns, The Grand Canyon it has been her life's dream to see it and we obliged her!!!!!!!!!! I have not talked so much nor laughed so much in my whole life!! I miss them both dearly and hope they hurry back SOON.

The cricket and what happened to him!!!

Well lets see, he kept my Hubby up the next night HAHAHA.............sorry its just normally the man can sleep through anything, and had no sympathy for me when i told him of my cricket saga.....so the next night i hear the dreaded bug singing away for all he was worth, and i hear grumbling, and whining, so i said "well now do you believe me when i say he is LOUD????" so i feel the bed move which means Dh is out of bed and hot on the trail of the dratted bug. So i snuggle down thinking i will hear the "SMACK" of a shoe or rolled up magazine as the pesky annoyance is severely dealt with. The singing is continuing, i can hear Dh staggering around in the dark, the beam of a torch sweeping the room. Then i hear...............................................nothing..............................silence.........................so i'm thinking ahhhhh peace..................and i go to sleep.

So i ask the dh the next day how did you kill the bug so quietly? "Well" says he looking everywhere but at me, "I didn't", so i look at him saying "so what did you do with him??" "well, i put him outside" OUTSIDE?" says i "OUTSIDE?" i am shrieking now cos i know the little devil will be back................"what are you thinking???????????" " you know the little sod will be back and probably bringing his new found family and friends with him...why didn't you flatten him???????????????????" " well" says Dh ( he seems to like that word!) he was singing so nicely i hadn't the heart to flatten him, so i picked him up in a tissue and threw him outside" I think that is when i snorted and told him that if he came back with a whole host of relatives that he had better hope i had taken a sleeping tablet and i couldn't hear him, cos there would be DIRE repercussions!!!!!!!!!!
All has been quite on the cricket in the bedroom front, BUT the cats on the other hand have been having a high old time with them, i have no idea how the bugs get in ( and when i do find the place i am having it sealed)...........anyway, i see the cats all in a circle ( i have 3 of them) looking intently at something........so i ask dh what they are looking at, he mutters something unintelligible and i sigh and get up to go look..............................i shriek and say to dh "oh yuck its a cricket with no legs.......... can't you do something?" well he says no and mutters something else about study and having a test etc..................and can't i do something?.........................i freeze...........................can't I DO SOMETHING?.............................you have to understand that i hate things that crawl, i don't like insects of any kind well ladybirds are an exception, but mostly i am scared to death, unless i have shoe, rolled up paper or the hoover nearby.SO i think ok, i know Dh really does have a test and study to do........so i think i can do this, it has no legs how hard can it be?? so i bravely go and get a tissue and attempt FOUR times to pick this thing up, each time i am so grossed out i can't do it..............so then i steeeeeeel myself...............i pick it up in the tissue....................................................................................................and promptly start shrieking again cos the thing MOVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it has no legs but it tried to move anyway and i felt it. I dropped that tissue with legless cricket in it and ran for the hoover, why i didn't do that in the first place i do not know..........i sucked that puppy up, took the compartment with it in and threw it in the rubbish bin............dh meanwhile is laffing so hard that tears are streaming down his face, i am not amused and i tell him so. Meanwhile the 3 cats are peering into the dark through the screen door cos they just know their toy was out there someplace............ some days i hate those cats!

Bad Blogger!!

Oh i am a terrible blogger!!! I can leave it for weeks before i post anything, but then again i'm a boring person so i have nothing to blog about!!!!!!!!!!!!

Blood sucker in my room!!

Ok, i think their may be a mosquito in my bedroom, the last few days i have woken up to find little red spot on my legs and they are itchy, i know its not fleas as i had the cats de-fleaed not too long ago and i'm not allergic to fleas but i am to mozzies.When those little devils bite i get huge welts and they itch like the dickens. So the question is where is the little bugger?? i walked around my room this morning peering up at the ceiling, i will get you, you little sod, oh and i've been sick all week with a fever and a really sore throat so if you sucked my blood i hope it was poisoned!!!!!!!!

Also i am very tired, i have a rain machine in my room to drown out the noises of cars etc. Well last night a bloody cricket chirped for 2 whole hours non stop, well he only stopped when i got up to go to the bathroom and i guess he thought i was coming to batter him......well i got back into bed and he starts up again, so i lay there fuming for about 5 Min's, got up with my torch ( flashlight) and started to hunt the little sod down, so i get to the old disused Gas wall mounted heater and that's where he is hiding, i could swear i heard laughter as i pulled down the little door there to see if i could see him......all the time i am doing this he has stopped that infernal chirping...............but of course i couldn't see him and if if i could have i doubt i could have gotten anything in there to kill him off! So i trudge back to bed and get in, pull the sheet over me and it STARTS AGAIN, that bloody chirping.................i know that little sod waited for me to get back into bed and get comfy so he could start again, he had to be watching me. I forgot to mention that whilst i was looking for him i could here in the not too far distance another one, now i don't know if he was in the house or outside but he was singing away also, so i know he was talking to him. I lay and seethed somemore, half an hour later it STOPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh the sheer bliss, all i could here was sweet blessed rain machine..........and then....................my hubby starts snoring...............oh my gosh was i meant to get any sleep tonight?????????

We have just finished painting our living room, what a job!! we had horrible wood panelling on one wall and in the hallway. So we decided to paint over it, so we had to fill the grooves and sand it and fill it and sand it! Then we were able to put the base coat "Chocolate Froth" on, boy did it ever lighten that room up, we had a texture paint to put on top of that, "Bellagio Faux" depending on what colour base coat you pick you then get the texture paint to put on top of it. It has small balls of paint in it that you "splat" with a trowel looking thing, we picked the one that had a greyish tint due to the silver metallic paint thats in there....its so pretty it looks like wallpaper. We chose to go with Louvre blinds and get rid of the venetian ones, i hated them anyway!!All in all we are very VERy happy with it, it looks so brigth in there now, all we have to do now is get the carpet!!! Watch this space as they say!!!
